State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yaser Khan Chowdhury said that the government is taking steps to ensure the flow of accurate information in the country and prevent misinformation and disinformation. He said, we want accurate and truthful information to reach the people, so that confusion does not spread and trust in the media is strengthened.
The State Minister said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a view-exchange meeting organized by the Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF) at the Secretariat on Monday (April 20, 2026).
The State Minister said that the media is being made more modern and effective by strengthening the digitalization process. He said that work will be done to improve the quality of service and reform various policies by taking into account the suggestions of all concerned parties.
The State Minister called on media workers to highlight any mistakes and errors in a constructive manner, saying that this will benefit both the government and the people. He emphasized on moving towards the future by avoiding repetition of the past.
The event, moderated by BSRF General Secretary Ubaidullah Badal, was attended by Chief Information Officer Yakub Ali, BSRF President Masudul Haque and journalists working in the secretariat.
