Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurates new building of Press Club and reconstruction of mosque in Bogra

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the new Press Club building and the reconstruction of a mosque in Bogra after participating in various programs.

On Monday (April 20, 2026), after a day-long program, he inaugurated the Bogra Press Club’s own multi-storey building at around 7:15 pm. At the inauguration ceremony, he said that he was happy to complete this project started for journalists a long time ago. He also expressed the hope that the journalists of Bogra would present various local problems and possibilities before the nation, so that effective steps could be taken for the development of the area.

At that time, when the journalists demanded the establishment of a branch of the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) in Bogra, the Prime Minister advised them to apply as per the government rules and assured them of considering the matter.

After the ceremony, he planted a golden flower sapling in the Press Club premises.

Present at the event were State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, MPs Rezaul Karim Badsha, Golam Mohammad Siraj, Kazi Rafiqul Islam, Editor of Daily Karatoya Mozammel Haque Lalu and leaders of the Bogra Press Club.

Earlier, the Prime Minister inaugurated the reconstruction work of Baitur Rahman Mosque, which was established on her own initiative.

Through these day-long programs, the Prime Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to the development activities of Bogra.
