The first ‘BGMEA Open Golf Tournament 2026’ organized by Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) was held in a festive and harmonious atmosphere at Jolshiri Golf Club in Purbachal, near Dhaka. Organized on Saturday (April 25), the tournament was held as an exceptional initiative of the current Board of Directors with the aim of further strengthening mutual relations, trust and solidarity between domestic and foreign stakeholders of the garment industry. More than 80 golfers participated in the tournament, including diplomats from various embassies, senior representatives of international brands and BGMEA members.




Mahmud Hasan Khan was present as the chief guest at the event. He handed over the prizes to the winners and said that this event is not just a sports competition, but a unique celebration of trust, respect and friendship between brand partners, buyers, diplomats and members. He also said that such an initiative will further strengthen the unity of the Bangladeshi garment industry and strengthen the country’s position in global competition.

The tournament was successfully completed under the overall supervision of BGMEA Sports Committee Director-in-charge Director Shah Raeed Chowdhury, Director Nafis-ud-Daula and Director Joarder Mohammad Hosne Qamar Alam. BGMEA Directors Faisal Samad, Mohammad Abdus Salam, Mohammad Sohel, M. Mohiuddin Chowdhury and other directors were also present.
The champion of the competition was A.M. Mahmudur Rahman and the runner-up was Shafiqul Islam. In the women’s category, Mrs. Haijang was the ladies winner and S.M. Nishat bin Zia Rumman achieved the best gross. Among other awards, Niaz Ahmed Bhuiyan won the Longest Drive and Salah Uddin Ahmed (Shamim) won the Nearest to the Pin award. Angelo Lee Nage won the first prize in the raffle draw held after the game.
The event was organized in collaboration with Powered by A&E, Co-sponsor KDS Accessories Limited, Souvenir Partner Argon Denims Limited and Florence Group, Raffle Draw Partner Hurain HTF Limited and Kit Partner ‘Dour’. The organizers expressed their hope that this event, held in a harmonious and festive atmosphere, will further strengthen the relationship between the garment industry.
