To mark the 54th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Japan, HerNet Fine Arts, in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Dhaka, is set to present “Origin of Vision”—a landmark group art exhibition and cultural celebration. Scheduled to run from July 18 to 26, the week-long event will spotlight the power of visual arts, cultural dialogue, and the shared heritage of the two nations.
The exhibition will showcase powerful and evocative works by 47 acclaimed and emerging contemporary artists from Bangladesh and abroad. In addition to the contemporary pieces, the event will also include a heartfelt tribute to the pioneers of Bangladesh’s artistic legacy.
“Origin of Vision” will feature not just artwork, but also curated art talks, live performances, and immersive Japanese cultural experiences. Visitors will have the opportunity to engage in ikebana (traditional Japanese flower arrangement), origami (the art of paper folding), and the serene and meditative Japanese tea ceremony—providing a deep dive into the aesthetics and mindfulness of Japanese culture.
