Team Group Managing Director Abdullahil Rakib tragically dies in boat sinking in Canada

Bangladesh Biman Captain Saifuzzaman Guddu and former BGMEA Vice President and Team Group Managing Director Abdullahil Rakib have lost their lives in a tragic accident in the province of Ontario, Canada.

The accident occurred while canoeing in the Kawartha Lake area adjacent to a cottage in the town of Linzi, Ontario on Sunday (June 8) local time. They entered the lake with a canoe at around 3 pm. Rakib’s son was also with them. When the canoe suddenly capsized in strong winds, Rakib’s son was able to swim back to shore, but Captain Saifuzzaman and Abdullahil Rakib drowned in the water.

Upon receiving the news, the Ontario Police Marine Unit, Fire Team and Aviation Team quickly reached the scene and participated in the rescue operation. Their bodies were later recovered. Police said none of them were wearing life jackets at the time of the accident.
