Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Bir Bikram, paid deep tribute to the martyrs of the great Liberation War by laying wreaths at the National Memorial in Savar.
On Sunday (July 26, 2026) at 11:40 am, he laid wreaths at the altar of the National Memorial. Later, he stood in silence for a while to pay tribute to the memory of the martyrs of the great Liberation War.
During the tribute, a smart team consisting of the Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force provided the Acting President with a ‘Guard of Honor’. At this time, the bugle sounded a mournful tune and an atmosphere of mourning and respect was created in the entire environment.
After the formalities, the Acting President planted a sapling in the memorial premises. Later, he signed the visitor’s book.
He left the National Memorial premises at 11:47 am. State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ishraq Hossain and senior officials of the President’s Office and other concerned persons were present at the time.
