Moroccan Ambassador to Bangladesh Lalla Bouthaina El Kerdoudi El Koulali paid a courtesy call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid Islam, MP, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday (July 1).
The long-standing friendly relations and growing bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Morocco were reiterated during the meeting. The State Minister for Foreign Affairs welcomed the newly appointed Moroccan Ambassador to Bangladesh and assured the government of all-out cooperation to further strengthen the existing relations between the two countries.

The meeting discussed in detail the possibilities of increasing cooperation in various fields including trade, investment, pharmaceutical industry, ready-made garments, jute and jute products, maritime sector, shipbuilding industry and manpower export. The State Minister for Foreign Affairs also emphasized on expanding mutual cooperation in the sectors of sports, culture, science and technology.
The Moroccan ambassador said that Morocco can play an important role as a strategic hub for accessing the African and European markets. He proposed to establish joint investments and joint ventures between Bangladesh and Morocco, especially in the ready-made garments, pharmaceuticals and maritime sectors. He also expressed his determination to further strengthen cooperation in all areas, including the recruitment of skilled and semi-skilled Bangladeshi manpower.
The State Minister for Foreign Affairs emphasized on increasing people-to-people contacts, cultural and sports exchanges, mutual visa waiver agreements and increasing regular bilateral dialogues and high-level visits.
