Listyowati, the Indonesian Ambassador to Bangladesh, paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Bangladesh Bank at the central bank’s headquarters on Sunday (October 4, 2026).
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on further strengthening bilateral economic, trade, and investment relations, building upon the existing friendly ties between Bangladesh and Indonesia. Particular emphasis was placed on expanding trade between the two nations, increasing Indonesian investment in Bangladesh, and exploring new avenues for mutual economic cooperation.

Highlighting Bangladesh’s growing economy and investment potential, the Governor urged for an expansion of Indonesian investment in the country. Discussions also focused on the potential to increase exports from Bangladesh to Indonesia—including ready-made garments, electronics, and pharmaceuticals—aiming to make the trade relationship more balanced and diversified.
The Indonesian Ambassador expressed keen interest in further solidifying economic and commercial ties between the two nations and highlighted the potential for enhanced cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Accompanying the Ambassador were Wahyu Riadi (Minister Counsellor/Head of Chancery), Robbi Firly Harkha (Third Secretary/Economic Affairs), and Sapto Rudiyanto (Officer). Bangladesh Bank was represented by Deputy Governor Md. Sarwar Hossain and Executive Director Md. Harun-or-Rashid.
