Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) visited the Police Headquarters Operation Control Room and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) New Market and Mohammadpur Police Stations on Wednesday (February 11, 2026) morning.

During the visit to the Police Headquarters Operation Control Room, the Advisor observed the law and order situation across the country and the security measures taken by Bangladesh Police on the occasion of the national elections. During this visit, he inspected the activities of body worn cameras. IGP Baharul Alam BPM and Additional IGs were present during the visit.
During the visit to New Market and Mohammadpur Police Stations, the Advisor directed the police members to perform their election duties with honesty, efficiency and sincerity. He warned of taking strict action against the law enforcement agencies and election officials concerned if any irregularities, including ballot box snatching and fake voting, occur at any polling station during the election.
The advisor later visited the Teachers Training College in the capital, from where election materials for various constituencies in Dhaka are being distributed.
