On Monday (16 February 2026), the monthly welfare meeting and crime review meeting of Gazipur Metropolitan Police was held at the Gazipur Metropolitan Police Headquarters. At the meeting, Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mr. Md. Israil Howlader distributed awards among the police members who performed meritorious work in recognition of their professionalism and responsibility.
At this time, he listened attentively to the statements of police members of all ranks. The members raised their various individual and collective applications and problems. The Commissioner gave necessary instructions to the concerned officers and assured to settle the applications quickly and solve the problems.
In his speech at the welfare meeting, he expressed his commitment to ensure the overall welfare of all police members working in GMP. At the same time, he urged the members present to ensure the welfare of the force as well as the provision of desired and quality services to the people seeking services.
Later, a monthly crime review meeting was held in the conference room of the Gazipur Metropolitan Police Headquarters. In the meeting, the Police Commissioner directed all the concerned units to perform their duties with utmost seriousness to maintain the law and order situation in the metropolitan area.
He laid special emphasis on the speedy resolution and disposal of unsolved cases in various units of the GMP, taking effective measures in the case of warrants and closely monitoring traffic management.
Mr. Mohammad Taherul Haque Chauhan, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) of the Gazipur Metropolitan Police, Deputy Police Commissioners and police officers from various units of the metropolitan area were present in the said welfare and crime review meeting.
At the end of the meeting, the Police Commissioner called on all members of the GMP to perform their duties with professionalism, honesty, and accountability to ensure the safety of the city’s residents.
