German Ambassador Observes Use of German Technology in Bangladesh’s Textile Industry

Diplomatic Desk:

A recent visit by the German Embassy in Dhaka has highlighted the potential to further strengthen business and technological cooperation between Germany and Bangladesh’s textile and ready-made garment (RMG) sectors.

German Ambassador to Dhaka, Dr. Rüdiger Lotz, and the Embassy’s Deputy Head of Mission, Daniel Blum, visited Square Fashions Limited, one of Bangladesh’s leading RMG companies. During the visit, they gained firsthand insight into the country’s textile and garment production operations.

The visit underscored the use of German technology and machinery in the Bangladeshi garment sector, as well as the business partnerships between local industrial firms and leading German brands—such as BOSS, PUMA, and OLYMP.

The German Embassy stated that the visit highlighted the close ties linking German technology, Bangladesh’s garment industry, and global value chains.

The Embassy’s statement also noted opportunities for future collaboration between Bangladesh and Germany in areas such as technology, sustainable production systems, and modern manufacturing processes.

Bangladesh’s ready-made garment industry is a vital sector for the country’s exports and foreign trade. There is significant potential to further strengthen Bangladesh’s position in the global market by expanding the use of advanced technology, sustainable production practices, and international partnerships within this sector.
