On Sunday (March 8, 2026), Chief Whip of the 13th National Assembly Md. Nurul Islam, MP and 06 whips Alhaj Md. G. K. Gaus, MP; Rakibul Islam, MP; Mia Nuruddin Ahmed Apu, MP; M Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu, MP; Md. Akhtaruzzaman Mia, MP; A.B.M. Ashraf Uddin, (Nijan); MP Savar paid deep respect to the martyrs of the great Liberation War by placing wreaths at the National Memorial.
During this, a moment of silence was observed and prayers were prayed for the forgiveness of the departed souls. Then the Chief Whip signed the visit book.
Chief Whip of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party Md. Nurul Islam said, after a long 17-year struggle, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party has formed the government in the 13th National Parliament election by securing a two-thirds majority. In light of the 31-point agenda announced by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and the election manifesto, the current government will continue to work for the welfare of the people of the country.
The Chief Whip said, the 13th National Parliament on the 12th will be vibrant and participatory. The opposition party will accelerate the country’s development through constructive discussions in the parliament.
It is worth noting that the ordinances issued by the President during the interim government are required to be presented in the first meeting of the parliament session and passed within 30 days. For this purpose, the National Parliament is completing all preparations.
The Additional Secretary of the National Parliament Secretariat, Sergeant at Arms, concerned officials and employees and various media personnel were present at the event.
