Advisor to the Ministry of Industry and Housing and Public Works, Adilur Rahman Khan said that the Chittagong District Bar Association will make the Chittagong Bar more modern, service-oriented and humane by training lawyers and enhancing the skills of young lawyers. It will play a role in establishing justice in the country by standing up for truth, justice and human rights.
He said that starting from the British colonial rule, the lawyers of the Chittagong Bar were at the forefront of protest and resistance and on behalf of the people in every democratic movement in the country. Some lawyers of this bar have served jail terms and been tortured in the anti-fascism movement.
He also said that the lawyers of the Chittagong Bar bravely stood by the students in the 2024 student-public movement. They provided legal assistance to the students who were arrested in the block raid and expressed solidarity in every program called by the students in the movement. During the March for Justice program, brave lawyers of the bar ignored the obstacles of the law enforcement agencies and took shelter in their chambers to prevent the students from entering the court and their arrest.

Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan said this at the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected executive council of the Chittagong District Bar Association at Court Hill in Chittagong on Thursday (7 August 2025). The inauguration ceremony was presided over by the President of the Chittagong District Bar Association, Advocate Abdus Sattar, and was addressed by Senior District and Sessions Judge of Chittagong Md. Nurul Islam, Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md. Hasanul Islam, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kazi Mizanur Rahman and Chief Judicial Magistrate Kazi Shahidul Islam. The welcome speech was delivered by the General Secretary of the Chittagong District Bar Association, Advocate Muhammad Hasan Ali Chowdhury.
Chittagong District Bar Association President Advocate Abdus Sattar said,

Former and current council members of the Chittagong District Bar Association and learned lawyers were also present at the inauguration ceremony. At this time, the cover of the Bar Association’s publication ‘Abhishek Smarak’ was unveiled.
