Iftar Mahfil Organized by Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB)

On Wednesday, March 13, 2025, the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) organized an Iftar Mahfil at the Officers’ Club in the capital. The event was presided over by the newly elected President of HAAB, Mr. Syed Golam Sarwar, with the Honorable Adviser to the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Dr. AFM Khalid Hasan, as the Chief Guest.

The keynote speaker at the event was Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Central Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former Member of Parliament. Special guests included AKM Aftab Hossain Pramanik, Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and Mr. Abdun Naser Khan, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.

HAB’s esteemed General Secretary, Farid Ahmed Mazumder, delivered the welcome speech at the Iftar Mahfil. Former President of BGMEA, SM Fazlul Haque, also spoke. Also present were HAAB’s founding President, Dr. Mohammad Farooq, former Presidents Mr. Ibrahim Bahar and Mr. Jamal Ahmed, HAAB’s first General Secretary, Maulana Yakub Sharafati, former General Secretary Rashid Shah Samrat, ATAB President Abdus Salam Aref, and TOAB President Mr. Mohammad Rafiuzzaman.

Additionally, members of the Central Executive Committee, as well as representatives from Chattogram and Dhaka zones, and esteemed members of HAAB, participated in the event.

During the Iftar Mahfil, the attendees discussed various aspects of improving Hajj management and enhancing religious services. They also shared important opinions regarding the role and future plans of HAAB.
