Police, RAB and Ansar uniforms are changing, Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd.) said.

The advisor said this while briefing reporters after the 6th meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Law and Order at the conference room of the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday (January 20, 2025) afternoon.

The advisor said, “We have decided on new uniforms in today’s meeting. These uniforms will be given to members of the forces in phases.” He said, “Along with the uniforms, the mindset and everything else must change. In this regard, the utmost importance is being given to stopping corruption.”

“It was alleged that the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) used tear gas and sound grenades during the clash between citizens of the two countries at the Chapainawabganj border on January 18. But the BGB did not use any such weapons.” – In response to a question from journalists, Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd.) said that sound grenades and tear gas shells (tear gas) are being purchased for the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). The advisor said, “The BGB does not have these, so how will they use them? Now we have given them permission, these things will be purchased for them.”

Members of the Advisory Council Committee on Law and Order participated in the meeting.

According to sources at the Police Headquarters, the colors of the uniforms of the police, RAB and Ansar have been decided as Iron, Green Olive and Golden White respectively.
