‘Made in Bangladesh Exhibition-2025’ to be held in Brazil for the first time

With the aim of promoting exportable products, diversifying markets, strengthening bilateral trade and facilitating networking in Latin America, especially Brazil, the Brazil Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BBCCI) is going to organize the first-ever ‘Made in Bangladesh Exhibition-2025’ in Sao Paulo, Brazil from June 15-18, 2025.

This information was given at a press conference organized at Hotel Ascot Palace located in the Baridhara diplomatic area at 11 am on Wednesday (January 8, 2025).

BBCCI Vice President Md. Saiful Alam delivered the welcome speech at the press conference and BBCCI Secretary General Md. Joynal Abdin delivered the keynote speech.

Brunei Ambassador Haji Haris Bin Osman, former President of British Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry Md. Bashir Ahmed, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Brazil in Dhaka, Mr. Leonardo de Oliveira Januzzi, Agriculture Attaché, Mr. Silvio Luiz Rodriguez Testasecca, and prominent business leaders and media personnel were present.

Speaking at the event, Honorable Ambassador of Brazil to Bangladesh, Mr. Paulo Fernando Dias Ferres, emphasized the immense potential for deepening trade relations between the two countries.

He said, “Made in Bangladesh Exhibition-2025” is an important step in strengthening the relationship between Brazil and Bangladesh. This initiative is an important platform for businesses to showcase their excellence and build meaningful partnerships.

He also said, “I am sure that this event will further enhance mutual understanding and pave the way for greater economic cooperation in the future.” Ambassador Paulo Fernando Dias Ferres said that Brazil is the largest producer of beef and poultry meat in the world. Many Muslim-majority countries in the world have permission to import beef from Brazil. But Bangladesh does not have this permission. The ambassador said that Brazil was trying to get that permission.

Md. Saiful Alam said, “This expo is fully in line with BBCCI’s vision of increasing economic cooperation and opening new avenues for Bangladeshi entrepreneurs. This is a golden opportunity for our exporters to enter new markets and promote their businesses globally. If you are a leader in the garment industry, a pioneer in jute products, or a pioneer in the pharmaceutical industry, this event is your gateway to international growth.”

For our esteemed Bangladeshi exporters, this expo is a golden opportunity to enter new markets and elevate your business to the global stage. We invite traders to register and participate in this groundbreaking event.

Whether you are a pioneer in the garment industry, a pioneer in jute products, or a leader in the pharmaceutical industry, “Made in Bangladesh Expo 2025” is your gateway to growth. For Bangladeshi importers, this is an opportunity to build alliances with Brazilian businesses and explore high-quality products such as soybeans, sugar, and industrial machinery. 100-150 traders from Bangladesh are expected to participate in the exhibition.

Advance registration will be open until January 31, 2025, with attractive discounts. I urge traders not to miss this opportunity to join us in São Paulo.

Md. Joynal Abdin described the expo as a bridge between culture and trade.

“With bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Brazil valued at $2.53 billion in 2022, the potential for significant growth is undeniable. This expo provides a platform to explore synergies with Brazil’s sustainability goals, such as Bangladeshi jute and Brazilian industrial equipment supporting Bangladesh’s industrialization,” he said.

He added that the goals of the event are to diversify markets for Bangladeshi exporters, increase trade volume and investment partnerships, and promote innovation and collaboration across industries.

“The expo will feature targeted business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking, policy discussions, and cultural exhibitions, which will go beyond trade to foster partnerships to strengthen mutual understanding and growth,” he added.
