Commerce adviser seeks business bodies’ capacity enhancement for graduation benefits

Advisor to Textile and Jute Ministry and Commerce Ministry Sheikh Bashiruddin said, ‘We have many challenges in LDC graduation. The move to reduce incentives is correct. After LDC graduation there will be no incentive and we will have to enter the export market with tariffs. As an LDC graduate country we have to be ready. Any anarchy in the textile industry should be resolved by working together. ‘

On Wednesday (December 4, 2024) in the conference room of Jute Diversification Promotion Center (JDPC) of Farmgate, on the occasion of ‘National Textile Day 2024’ organized by Ministry of Textiles and Jute under the theme ‘Modernization of Textile Industry, Development of Bangladesh’, ‘Overview of textile sector in Bangladesh : Problems, He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the seminar titled Prospects and Smart way out.

Calling for the use of solar power, Sheikh Bashiruddin, adviser to the Ministry of Textiles and Jute and Commerce, also said, ‘The use of advanced technology should be increased in the textile sector. Solar power is one of the possible solutions to reduce the cost of this sector. In the development of this industry, newcomers should be professionally skilled by increasing their academic interest. ‘

Earlier, Director General of Textile Directorate Md. Shahidul Islam gave a welcome speech at the seminar. Later, various business representatives related to the textile sector freely discussed the various aspects and obstacles of the business activities here.
