He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting and prayer mahfil organized by the district BNP on the occasion of the 45th martyrdom anniversary of martyred President Ziaur Rahman at the Sonar Bangla Community Center in Tangail city on Saturday (May 30, 2026).

The State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock said that martyred President Ziaur Rahman inspired the nation to fight for the liberation war by declaring independence from the Kalurghat radio station on March 26. He said, “Bangladesh became independent through his declaration. His leadership, patriotism and courage are forever remembered in the history of independence. We want to walk the path of the future by carrying his ideals in our hearts.”

The State Minister said, Martyr President Ziaur Rahman was a multi-dimensional personality. His contribution to the declaration of independence, the Liberation War, the restoration of democracy, economic development and protecting national interests inspires the nation even today.
