UN to provide technical assistance to Election Commission ahead of parliamentary elections

The United Nations organized a special briefing in Bangladesh on Thursday (December 4, 2025) for all registered political parties in preparation for the parliamentary elections. The briefing provided a summary of the technical assistance provided by the United Nations to the Election Commission during the electoral process.

The briefing said that through the Ballot Project, the United Nations is supporting the Election Commission in building its operational capacity, training officials, supporting voter and civic education activities, providing necessary materials, and ensuring inclusiveness and accuracy of information in the electoral process.

The UN is providing this assistance based on its core principles, which include national sovereignty and ownership, protection of human rights, and a commitment to impartiality, impartiality, and independence. At the end of the briefing, the guests presented their views and questions through a question-and-answer session.
