UN Secretary-General will visit Bangladesh from March 13-16

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will pay an official visit to Bangladesh from March 13-16. His office has confirmed this.

His visit to Bangladesh is being held in response to the invitation of Principal Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

This was stated in a press release issued by the Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to the United Nations today, Wednesday (February 26, 2025).

The release further said that the invitation was handed over to him by the Principal Advisor’s High Representative for the Rohingya Crisis and Priorities, Khalilur Rahman, during his meeting with the UN Secretary-General in New York on February 7.
