To make Hajj and Umrah easier and more beautiful Efforts will continue: Civil Aviation Secretary

Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Nasreen Jahan, said that our efforts to make Hajj and Umrah easier and more beautiful through coordinated efforts will continue.

She said this while speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the three-day national-level Hajj and Umrah Fair 2025 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Agargaon in the capital on Saturday (August 16, 2025) evening.

She said that last year’s Hajj management was excellent. The airfare was reduced by thirty thousand taka to reduce the cost of Hajj. This year, we will try to determine more affordable fares through discussions with other airlines involved in Hajj passenger transport.

Stating that the cost of Hajj will not be reduced much if the airfare is reduced alone, the Civil Aviation Secretary said that the four or five other cost sectors of Hajj must be taken into consideration. At the same time, she drew the attention of Hajj agencies to provide the best service to Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

The Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB) organized the three-day Hajj and Umrah fair.

Additional Secretary (Development) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Mu: A: Awal Howlader, Joint Secretary (Hajj) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dr. Md. Manjurul Haque, Director (Marketing) of Biman Bangladesh, Ashraful Alam, Secretary General of the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB) Farid Ahmed Majumder, and Managing Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank, Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, addressed the event as special guests.

Syed Golam Sarwar, President of the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB), delivered the welcome address.

Later, the chief guest handed over the crests to the representatives of the participating organizations in the Hajj and Umrah fair.
