The newly elected Executive Committee of BASIS 2024-2026 was sworn in.

The newly elected executive committee of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) 2024-2026 officially took oath. Last Monday (May 20) evening, this debut function of Basis was organized in an elite hotel of the capital. Where BASIS founding president A Touhid read the oath to the newly elected executive council. Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman has given a positive indication that the tax holiday facility in the information technology sector of the country will remain in force this year as well.

State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said in the speech of the special guest at the event, if the tax exemption period can be extended till 2030, then it will be possible to earn 5 billion dollars in export earnings from the software sector. In the speech of the special guest at the event, Commerce Minister Ahsanul Islam Titu commented that there should be at least 1% women entrepreneurs in the committee of BASIS.

Incidentally, the election of the executive council for the 2024-2026 period of BASIS, the national trade association of the country’s information technology sector, was completed in a festive atmosphere at the Bangladesh Shooting Sports Federation, Gulshan in the capital on May 8. In the election, the Russell T Ahmed-led panel ‘One Team’ won 8 out of 11 posts and got a majority. Mostafizur Rahman Sohel led panel ‘Team Smart got 3 positions.
