The delegation of “Mayer Dak” organization held a meeting with the Home Affairs and Information Advisor

A meeting of a delegation of ‘Mayer Dak’, an organization of relatives of missing persons, was held with Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd) and Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Nahid Islam. The meeting was held at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday (October 21st) afternoon. ‘Mayer Dak’ organization demanded the government to return the victims of disappearances to their families quickly and take legal action against the culprits subject to proper investigation of each disappearance incident.

In the meeting, the Home Affairs and Information Adviser said that the operation is continuing to find those who have gone missing. The government has already taken initiatives to speed up the investigation and trial process of disappearances. These two advisers also assured to identify those involved in the disappearance incident and bring them under the law quickly. Sanjida Islam Tuli, the organizer of ‘Mayer Dak’, Tajul Islam, Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal, Huma Khan, Senior Human Rights Advisor of the United Nations and others were present in the meeting.
