The Sri Lanka MICE Expo 2025 (SL-MICE Expo 2025), organized by the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) — the national tourism organization under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism — was officially inaugurated by Hon. Harini Amarasuriya, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka.

On Wednesday (12 November 2025), a brief ceremony was held at the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Dhaka, where His Excellency Dharmapala Weerakkody, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Bangladesh, formally unveiled the Special Edition of Business in Bangladesh.

This Special Edition highlights the success of the Sri Lanka MICE Expo 2025, organized by the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB), and the country’s growing prominence as a regional hub for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE).

Business in Bangladesh participated in the event as a Hosted Media Representative from Bangladesh, underscoring the strong and expanding collaboration between the two friendly nations in the tourism and business events sector.

During the visit, Editor Md. Shajibul-Al-Rajib handed over copies of the Special Edition to His Excellency the High Commissioner, to be presented to Hon. Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Harini Amarasuriya and Mr. Dheera Hettiarachchi, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB).

The High Commissioner commended Business in Bangladesh for its contribution to promoting regional cooperation and expressed interest in future collaborations aimed at strengthening promotional activities between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

The event marked a symbolic step toward enhancing bilateral relations, trade, investment, and tourism partnerships between the two friendly nations.
