Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the new 500-bed expanded building of the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital in Agargaon, the capital.




The Prime Minister inaugurated the new building by releasing balloons and pigeons in the hospital premises on Saturday (August 15, 2026) morning. His wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman was present at the time.
After the inauguration, the Prime Minister visited various departments, operation theaters and intensive care units (ICUs) of the hospital. During this time, she inquired about the medical services of the hospital, existing facilities for patients and overall activities.




Later, the Prime Minister addressed the doctors, nurses and staff of the hospital.
The inauguration of the new 500-bed building will further increase the scope and capacity of medical services for complex neuroscience-related diseases at the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital. At the same time, the hospital’s capacity to provide advanced and specialized medical services to patients from different parts of the country will be further strengthened.
