Shama Obaid Islam, the elected member of parliament from Faridpur-2 constituency, has taken oath as the State Minister of Foreign Affairs.
He took the oath at a formal ceremony organized at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in the capital, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Tuesday (February 17, 2026). High-ranking state officials, leaders of various political parties, diplomats, representatives of civil society and invited guests were present at the ceremony.
