An educational event was organized at the Russian House in Dhaka to mark the 170th birth anniversary of the world-renowned Russian painter Mikhail Vrubel. The event highlighted his life, innovative artistic techniques, and timeless masterpieces.
Students from various educational institutions in Dhaka, who are studying art at the Serov Academy of Fine Arts, participated in the event with great interest and enthusiasm.

An audio-visual presentation showcased Vrubel’s life and the evolution of his artistic persona. Students were introduced to his journey—from his formal art education to his famous Symbolist masterpieces such as The Demon Seated, Pan, and The Swan Princess.
Special emphasis was placed on Vrubel’s distinctive artistic style, particularly his use of geometric shapes resembling crystal facets and mosaic-like color arrangements. Students gained insight into how he developed a unique artistic language through the innovative use of color, texture, and geometric forms, effectively foreshadowing various trends in modern art.
Additionally, the event featured discussions on various aspects of Russian art and cultural heritage, specifically decorative ceramic art and stage design. Through this engaging presentation, young Bangladeshi artists gained valuable knowledge about the history of Russian art and its contribution to the development of visual arts.
This educational initiative reflects the Russian House in Dhaka’s ongoing commitment to promoting Russian artistic heritage, fostering interest in art at an international level, and further strengthening cultural ties between Russia and Bangladesh.
By introducing the new generation to the works of prominent Russian artists, the Russian House in Dhaka continues to foster cultural dialogue, mutual understanding, and creative inspiration between the two nations.
