Prime Minister urges youth to come forward in science and technology-based innovation

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman exchanged views with students of Dhaka Residential Model College (DRMC), who are representing Bangladesh in the international robotics competition RoboSub 2026 to be held in the United States.

In the exchange meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Tuesday (July 7, 2026) afternoon, the students presented their innovative project ‘Project Poseidon’s Code’ before the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister wanted to know more about the various aspects of the students’ project and urged the youth to be more focused on science, technology and research-based innovative activities. She congratulated the students for representing Bangladesh at the international level.

At the time, the Prime Minister said that science, technology and innovation-based initiatives are one of the driving forces for the progress of Bangladesh in the future. She also said that the government is committed to ensuring the necessary cooperation and facilities to advance the creative initiatives of the youth.

She assured the students of her support for the project and urged them to continue working with dedication, perseverance and confidence. At the same time, she expressed the hope that their success would further brighten the image of Bangladesh in the international arena.

After the exchange of views, the Prime Minister presented her book ‘Bangladesh First’ to the students as a gift.

It is worth noting that the RoboSub 2026 international competition will be held in California, USA from July 11 to 16. A student team from Dhaka Residential Model College will participate in it for Bangladesh.

Before their trip abroad, the students met the Prime Minister to inform him about their innovative project and seek his guidance. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is a proud alumnus of Dhaka Residential Model College.

The students said that they are a delegation of ‘Project Poseidon’s Code’. This is the first underwater robotics initiative in Bangladesh, which was started by Dhaka Residential Model College. The project is currently being conducted in collaboration with the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at United International University (UIU).
