Prime Minister Tarique Rahman pays tribute to martyrs of Peelkhana massacre at Banani Military Cemetery on National Martyrs’ Day

Honorable Prime Minister Tarique Rahman paid tribute to martyred army members by laying wreaths at Banani Military Cemetery in Banani, Banani, on the occasion of National Martyrs’ Day.

On Wednesday (25 February 2026) morning, he paid tribute to the martyred army officers in the brutal massacre at the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) headquarters in the 2009 Peelkhana tragedy. After laying the wreath, the Prime Minister stood in silence for a while in memory of the martyrs.

Later, he participated in a special prayer held to pray for the eternal peace of the martyrs. Senior military and civilian officials were also present at the time.
