Bangladesh and Malaysia agree to strengthen cooperation in religious matters

Bangladesh and Malaysia have agreed to strengthen cooperation in religious matters. They agreed to this in a virtual meeting held on Tuesday (February 24, 2026) between Minister for Religious Affairs Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain (Kaikobad) and Minister for Religious Affairs in the Prime Minister’s Office of Malaysia, Senator Dr. Zulkifli Hassan.

Minister for Religious Affairs Kaikobad emphasized the importance of exchanging mutual experiences and best practices in developing Hajj management, zakat administration and religious education systems. He emphasized increasing efficiency in conducting Hajj activities, ensuring transparency in zakat management and developing the capacity of relevant officials.

The meeting, held in an atmosphere of mutual respect and great cordiality, expressed hope for further expansion of cooperation in the field of religious matters between the two countries in the future. In addition, the possibility of making religious education more effective and timely in line with contemporary needs was also discussed.
