Prime Minister Tarique Rahman meets President at Bangabhaban on Independence Day

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met President Md. Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban in Dhaka on Thursday (March 26, 2026) on the occasion of the great Independence Day and National Day. This is their first meeting at Bangabhaban after assuming office as Prime Minister.

When they reached Bangabhaban around 6:15 pm, President Md. Shahabuddin and his wife Dr. Rebecca Sultana welcomed Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his daughter Barrister Zaima Rahman with flowers.

During the meeting, they exchanged greetings and discussed the Independence Day program in detail. At this time, both expressed satisfaction over the successful completion of the activities undertaken on the occasion of Independence Day. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman recalled his visit to Bangabhaban in his youth.

Deputy Speaker of the National Parliament Barrister Kaiser Kamal and high-ranking officials of the President’s and Prime Minister’s offices were present at the time.
