A high-level delegation led by Javier La Rosa, President of Base Assets and Emerging Countries at the multinational energy corporation Chevron, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
During the meeting held at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Sunday (September 13, 2026), discussions took place regarding various possibilities for expanding Chevron’s investment in Bangladesh’s energy sector.
The meeting placed particular emphasis on Chevron investing in the exploration of new gas fields, alongside increasing investment in the country’s existing and older gas fields.
The importance of foreign investment in promising areas was highlighted as a means to meet Bangladesh’s growing energy demands, boost gas production, and further strengthen the country’s energy security.
This visit by the high-level Chevron delegation signals new possibilities for expanding international investment and partnerships within Bangladesh’s energy sector.
