President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called upon various European nations to further increase their investment in Bangladesh.
On Monday (September 28, 2026), the President made this call while meeting with the ambassadors of EU member states—Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden—along with the Head of the European Union Delegation to Bangladesh, at Bangabhaban.
During the meeting, the ambassadors congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on assuming the office of the President. The President expressed his gratitude for their congratulations and good wishes.
The President expressed satisfaction with the steady progress of relations between Bangladesh and European nations, as well as with the European Union. He noted that the partnership between the two sides has now evolved into a multifaceted one.
He expressed gratitude for the continued cooperation and contributions of the European Union and its member states toward Bangladesh’s development and democratic transition.
The President stated that new opportunities have emerged to further deepen the existing cordial relations between Bangladesh and the European Union, grounded in mutual respect and cooperation.
