Pakistan’s Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan paid a courtesy call on Food Advisor Ali Imam Majumder at the ministry’s office room at the Secretariat today, Thursday (August 21, 2025).
The Food Advisor welcomed the Pakistani Commerce Minister to Bangladesh. During this time, discussions were held on issues of bilateral interest as well as on increasing trade between the two countries.
The Food Advisor said that during the tenure of the current interim government, cargo ships are coming directly from Pakistan’s Karachi port to Chittagong port. Through this, trade activities between the two countries have increased. Earlier, Pakistani products were imported to Bangladesh through a third country.
This used to increase time and cost. The Pakistani Commerce Minister thanked the Food Advisor and expressed optimism about increasing trade between the two brotherly countries and increasing cooperation for the welfare of the people of both countries.
Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider, Food Secretary Md. Masudul Hasan and other relevant officials of the ministry were present during the meeting.
