Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh, High Commissioner Imran Haider, visited the Ministry of Education on Sunday (June 21, 2026). He discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the education, youth development and sports sectors with Education Minister Dr. A. N. M. Ehsanul Haque Milon during a courtesy call.
During the meeting, the High Commissioner briefed the Minister about the progress of the ‘Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor’. The discussions included an exchange of views on the possibilities of cooperation in various fields, including technical and vocational education, digital learning, physical education and the accreditation process of educational institutions.
Later, the High Commissioner presented a football manufactured by Forward Sports, a Pakistani company based in Sialkot, as a gift to the Education Minister. Earlier, 1,000 similar footballs were handed over to the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, which will be distributed to government schools in the country, it was informed. The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education will implement the distribution program of these footballs.
The High Commissioner said that Sialkot is known as an important center for football production worldwide. Footballs produced from this city have been used in various World Cups, including the ‘Brazuca’ of the 2014 Brazil World Cup, the ‘Telstar’ of the 2018 Russia World Cup, the ‘Al Rihla’ of the 2022 Qatar World Cup and the ‘Trionda’ of the 2026 World Cup.
The Education Minister welcomed the initiative and said that such cooperation will play an important role in increasing the participation of students in physical education and sports. He called for strengthening future cooperation in the various sectors discussed.
