Gazipur Correspondent:
A ‘No Horn’ awareness motorcycle rally was held in Gazipur to raise public awareness about stopping unnecessary honking and controlling noise pollution.
On Wednesday (September 9, 2026), from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, an important meeting regarding vehicle operation without unnecessary honking or noise was held at the Bhawal Conference Room of the Gazipur Deputy Commissioner’s office. The meeting was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur.

High-ranking officials from various departments, including the DC (Traffic), Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP), and the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Gazipur district, attended the meeting. Detailed discussions were held on refraining from unnecessary honking, controlling noise pollution, and maintaining discipline in vehicular movement on the roads.
Speakers at the meeting noted that unnecessary honking has become a matter of concern. It not only increases noise pollution but also causes significant distress to pedestrians, students, patients, and the elderly. The Honorable Prime Minister has also placed special emphasis on this issue. Therefore, everyone was urged to play a responsible role in stopping the use of unnecessary horns and raising public awareness.
Following the meeting, a colorful motorcycle rally carrying the ‘No Horn’ message—urging drivers not to honk unnecessarily—was held from the Deputy Commissioner’s office to Harinal Bazar. Participants in the rally disseminated messages calling for an end to unnecessary honking.
Officials and representatives from the Gazipur district administration, police administration, and other relevant departments participated in the rally. Journalists from print and electronic media were also present to cover the event.
