Newly appointed six city administrators pay courtesy call on Home Minister

Home Minister and BNP National Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed was paid a courtesy call on the administrators of the two city corporations of Dhaka and six city councils at his office in the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Tuesday (February 24, 2026).

The minister welcomed the newly appointed administrators of the six city councils to his office. During the meeting, the administrators of the six city councils sought the minister’s full cooperation during their work and pledged to work with the highest service mentality for the development of the six city councils.

It is worth noting that on February 22, 2026, a notification was issued for the appointment of six administrators from the City Corporation-1 branch of the Local Government Division of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives.

According to the notification, the six administrators appointed in the six city corporations are: Md. Abdus Salam in Dhaka South City Corporation; Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan in Dhaka North City Corporation; Nazrul Islam Manju in Khulna City Corporation; Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury in Sylhet City Corporation; Md. Sakhawat Hossain Khan in Narayanganj City Corporation and Md. Shawkat Hossain Sarkar in Gazipur City Corporation.
