The newly appointed French ambassador, Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet, presented his credentials to His Excellency the President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Md. Shahabuddin, on Wednesday. He assumed office as the 18th Ambassador of France to Bangladesh.

During the presentation of his credentials, the President and the ambassador held warm and cordial discussions. Both highlighted the importance of the long-standing historical friendly relations between the two countries and pledged to further expand bilateral cooperation in the future. The discussions focused on safeguarding democracy, strengthening multilateral cooperation, and joint initiatives to combat the adverse effects of climate change.
Ambassador Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet said, “France is a trusted and cooperative partner of Bangladesh. We are committed to standing by Bangladesh and further developing and deepening the relations between the two countries in all sectors.”
The President expressed hope that the assumption of office of the new ambassador will take the relations between the two countries to new heights and further enhance cooperation in all sectors – trade, development, culture, and technology.
