The Embassy organized a programme on “From the Himalayas to the Bay of Bengal: Promoting Nepal-Bangladesh Economic Partnership”, aimed at promoting connections with business community and travel and tour entrepreneurs based in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief of Mission Ms. Lalita Silwal expressed satisfaction over increasing economic engagements between the two countries, particularly in areas of trade, energy, investment, tourism, and transit and connectivity.

While she commended the crucial role of business community and tour and travel entrepreneurs in promoting trade and tourism exchanges between the two countries, she also urged them to explore the opportunities and foster meaningful partnership with their Nepali counterparts.
Second Secretary Ms. Yojana Bamjan made a presentation on economic cooperation between the two countries highlighting the potential in key areas such as trade, transit and connectivity, energy, and tourism. During an interactive session, queries and concerns of the participants were addressed.

The programme also featured remarks by President of Cox’s Bazar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CBCCI) Mr. Abu Murshed Chowdhury Khoka, Chairman of Cox’s Bazar Tour Operator Association of Bangladesh (ToAB) Mr. S. M. Kibria Khan, and Chairman and Founder President of Tour Operator Owners Association of Cox’s bazar ( TOAC) Mr. M Rezaul Karim Reza, President of Cox’s Bazar Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ms. Zahanara Islam, among others.

Participants of the event included representatives of business community and travel and tour entrepreneurs based in Cox’s Bazar.
