Mirza Faiyaz Hossain, an Entrepreneur Driven by Integrity, Technology and Innovation

As the industry looks to find the future leader of Bangladesh’s Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector, Mirza Faiyaz Hossain, Director, Apparels Village Limited (AVL) and an energetic leader of Faiyaz Group, has emerged as a candidate from the Sammilit Parishad Panel (36–70) in the BGMEA elections 2025–2027.

When Mirza Faiyaz Hossain joined his family business in 2008, the company was in deep crisis after losing an international buyer. However, through strong leadership, analytical vision and timely decision-making, he gradually turned the company around. Under his leadership, the number of production lines in the factory increased from 5 to 40—a testament to his strategic acumen and dynamic management.

When order cancellations and layoffs became common around the world during the Corona period, Mirza Fayyaz Hossain’s company has kept orders and the salaries of its employees have not been delayed even for a day. The entire company has kept its operations running through digital transformation, which is a rare example.

In 2020, his company Apparels Village Ltd. won the “Top Sustainable Supplier” award from the renowned Italian brand OVS. Fayyaz believes, “The company’s transparency and innovation practices have played a major role behind this recognition.”

Regarding the BGMEA elections, Mirza Fayyaz Hossain said, “We need to get out of this mindset that there is no need for reforms unless there is a crisis. We need to ask questions, analyze and be prepared in advance.”

He is in favor of a “conscious, action-oriented and solution-focused” form of BGMEA. His declared key focus areas are:

Green Financing Desk: Helping export-oriented factories develop bankable proposals so that they can easily access financing for solar power, modern boilers and LEED certification.

Public R&D Grant: Launching government research and innovation funds to help factories develop new high-value products.

Diversified Export Market: Creating a framework for entering new international markets in addition to the traditional markets of Europe and America.

Audit Code & Utility Policy: A uniform audit code and active participation of BGMEA in the national energy policy so that export-oriented factories can easily access gas and utility facilities.

Mirza Fayyaz Hossain believes that factories should be big not only in size but also in imagination. We need a BGMEA that will invest not only in infrastructure but also in thinking.

He believes that alternatives to cotton-dependent raw materials should be found and emphasis should be placed on technology-driven, innovation-driven production.
