Ministry forms seven-member committee to review Public Works Department’s rate schedule

The Ministry of Housing and Public Works has formed a seven-member committee to review the Public Works Department’s rate schedule.

The committee, convened by the Additional Secretary (Development Sub-Division-1) of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, includes a representative of the rank of Professor of the Civil Engineering Department of BUET; a representative of the rank of Professor of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of BUET; a representative of the rank of Supervising Engineer of the Local Government Engineering Department; a representative of the rank of Supervising Engineer of the Roads and Highways Department and a representative of the rank of Supervising Engineer of the Public Works Department. The Deputy Secretary (Planning Branch-2) of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works will serve as the member secretary of this committee.

The terms of reference of the committee state:- This committee will verify whether the prices of the items in the price schedule are in line with the market price and submit a report to the ministry promptly. The committee can co-opt members if necessary.
