Maldives High Commissioner Shiuneen Rasheed met with Mr. Dom Scalpelli, the World Food Programme (WFP) Resident Representative in Bangladesh.
During the meeting, Mr. Scalpelli briefed the High Commissioner on WFP’s ongoing operations in Bangladesh, particularly its humanitarian assistance to Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar.
He highlighted the challenges currently facing WFP’s operations, especially those arising from critical funding shortfalls.
High Commissioner Rasheed reaffirmed the Maldives’ unwavering solidarity with the Rohingya community and reiterated the country’s continued commitment to a just and sustainable resolution of their situation.
