Joint meeting of FBCCI and BBS held to form statistical framework for trade registration

A discussion meeting on formulation of Statistical Business Register (SBR) of the Economic Census 2023 of Bangladesh Statistics Bureau (BBS) was held on Tuesday (July 22, 2025) at FBCCI office in Motijheel, Dhaka.

Business leaders, govt. officials and other stakeholders joined the discussion. The meeting was jointly organized by FBCCI and BBS.

Earlier in the meeting, a special munajat was offered seeking divine forgiveness for the souls of those who have lost their lives in the aircraft crash at Milestone School & College campus at Uttara, Dhaka. Participants in the meeting stood in solemn silence for a moment.

Mr. Md. Hafizur Rahman, Administrator of FBCCI chaired the discussion. The discussion was also graced by the Director General of BBS Mr. Mohammed Mizanur Rahman.

During the discussion, BBS made a presentation on different aspects of the Statistical Business Register (SBR) and its functionalities and called upon the business community for cooperation in this regard.

Director of the Economic Census-2023 Project of BBS Mr. S M Shakil Akhter, Secretary General of FBCCI Mr. Md. Alamgir, Adviser of the FBCCI Safety Council Brig. Gen. (retd) Abu Nayeem Md. Shahidullah, among others, also spoke at the discussion.
