On Sunday (June 22, 2025) at 10 am, the Honorable Ambassador of the Embassy of Japan in Dhaka, Mr. Saida Shinichi, held a courtesy call on Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at the central office of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. The meeting was held in a very sincere and cordial atmosphere. Matters related to the interests of both countries were discussed objectively in the meeting.
In the meeting, Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman gave a brief description of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. He also highlighted the party’s position on freedom of speech and religious rights. He highlighted the details of political oppression during the dictatorship in Bangladesh, especially the destruction of the electoral system.

At this time, the Ameer-e-Jamaat described the unjust killing of Jamaat-e-Islami leaders in false and fabricated cases in the name of justice and presented a picture of imprisonment, oppression, torture, kidnapping and disappearances during the fallen fascist era. He informed him about the fact that Jamaat was most persecuted during the dictatorship.

The Honorable Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Saida Shinichi, thanked the Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and presented his position on the upcoming elections in Bangladesh and the existing relations between Japan and Bangladesh. The Honorable Ambassador expressed his conviction in holding a free, fair and peaceful election in Bangladesh. He expressed hope that bilateral relations with Japan and Bangladesh will be further strengthened in the future.
The meeting was attended by the recently released Mr. ATM Azharul Islam, the former MP of the Nayebe Ameer, Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher and former MP Maulana Anam Shamsul Islam, Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Central Executive Council Member and Secretary of the Central Publicity and Media Department Ed. Matiur Rahman Akand, Central Executive Council Member Mr. Mubarak Hossain and Foreign Affairs Advisor to Ameer-e-Jamaat Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan were present.
