Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, Indian High Commission in Dhaka celebrates 164th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore

The Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka organized a special cultural evening on the occasion of the 164th birth anniversary of poet Rabindranath Tagore on Thursday (May 8, 2025). The event titled ‘Ravi’s Shadow’ featured a colorful rendition of Rabindra Sangeet.

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma was present as the chief guest at the event. In his speech, he remembered the poet with respect and said, “A unique cultural bridge has been built between India and Bangladesh through the creation of Rabindranath Tagore’s poetry, paintings and music. The depth and breadth of his creations still bind the hearts of the people of the two countries.”

At the ‘Ravi’s Shadow’ program, renowned artists performed Rabindra Sangeet of various levels, which touched the hearts of the audience present.
