I also have some responsibility: Dr. Yunus

Online Desk:

The Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus has agreed to take responsibility as the chief adviser of the interim government. He said, “If the students can sacrifice so much, if the people of the country can sacrifice so much, then I also have some responsibility.”

Tuesday (August 6) morning. Dr. Muhammad Yunus was announced as the chief adviser to the interim government Late at night on Monday by Nahid Islam, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student He announced this in a video message. Two other coordinators were present with him at that time.

According to sources, Dr. Yunus said, “When I was contacted by the students, I did not want to agree at first. I told them, I have a lot of work, which I have to finish. But they repeatedly requested me and said, we have succeeded in such a bloody movement.

He also said, “Many people have lost their lives in this movement, many students, common people have been killed. Now Bangladesh has an opportunity to manage the country in a fair manner. In that case, if you take responsibility, then it is possible. It’s not good for any of us if you don’t agree to take responsibility. That is why we request you to take responsibility.

When the students said this, I thought to myself, these students have done so much agitation, they have to pay so much for it. If the students can sacrifice so much, if the people of the country can sacrifice so much, then I also have some responsibility. Then I informed the students that I am willing to take charge of the interim government.
