Grameen Group and Grameen Trust delegation visit Kosovo Embassy

A high-level delegation of Grameen Group and Grameen Trust met at the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Dhaka on Tuesday (8 July 2025) in a special courtesy call. The delegation was welcomed by the Ambassador of Kosovo to Bangladesh, Lulzim Pllana. Former leaders of the Grameen Kosovo project, who played a significant role in the reconstruction of war-torn Kosovo after 2000, were present.

During the discussion, the delegates reminisced about their experiences in Kosovo and highlighted how microcredit and social business initiatives have contributed to the country’s recovery. The delegations from both countries emphasized the need to strengthen new cooperation in the social business, technical education and digital health sectors.

The discussion focused on the role of Principal Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus’s “Three Zeros” vision—zero poverty, zero unemployment, and zero carbon emissions—and a commitment to further strengthen the Kosovo-Bangladesh partnership for the future in light of this vision.

Notable among the delegation was Lamia Morshed, Principal Coordinator for SDGs in the Office of the Principal Advisor, who played a key role in the early stages of Rural Kosovo. Also present was Ashraful Hasan, Chairman of the Rural Group, and his associates, who played a key role in the implementation of the Kosovo project during its inception.

Ambassador Plana expressed his sincere gratitude for their presence and described the continued cooperation of the Rural Group as a milestone in the friendly relations between the two countries.
