Garment Technology Tradeshow GTB 25 and Garment Accessories & Packaging Tradeshow GAP Expo 2025 Started Today

The 22nd edition of the Garment Technology Exhibition Bangladesh (GTB 25) and the 14th edition of the Gap Expo 2024 began in Dhaka with the latest equipment or garment accessories and packaging products used in the ready-made garment industry.

The four-day exhibition, jointly organized by Bangladesh Garment Accessories Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA) and ASK Trade Show and Exhibition Private Limited, was inaugurated at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka on Wednesday (January 8, 2025) morning. 500 companies from 25 countries are participating in the exhibition.

The Honorable Advisor to the Ministry of Commerce, Textiles, and Jute, Mr. Sheikh Bashir Uddin, was present as the chief guest. HE Mr. Young-sik, The Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh, graced the occasion as a special guest.

Additionally, Mr. Md. Shahriar, President of the Bangladesh Garment Accessories and Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA), Former President and Advisor Mr. Mohammad Moazzem Hossain Moti, Chairman of the Trade Fair Committee Mr. Hasan Ul Karim Tamiz, Managing Director of ASK Trade Show and Exhibitions Private Limited Mr. Md. Tipu Sultan Bhuyan, and Director of the organization Mr. Nanda Gopal K. along with representatives from various industry-related institutions were present at the inauguration ceremony

For the past 21 years, GTB has been organizing exhibitions showcasing global technologies in the apparel sector. These exhibitions offer opportunities to view a wide range of ancillary products including cutting, sewing, finishing, embroidery machinery, and retail items for the RMG sector. On the other hand, leading members of BGAPMEA showcase their latest innovations in garment accessories and packaging at the exhibition.

Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan, Managing Director of ASK Trade Show and Exhibitions Private Limited, the organizer of the exhibition, said, “Although we experienced a slight downturn in 2024, order volumes have increased significantly now. The diversification and expansion of non- cotton garments, especially sportswear, have introduced new types of changes, increasing the demand for specialized machinery, which is consistently showcased at the GTB exhibition. GTB is showcasing the latest innovations in sewing, laundry, finishing, CAD/CAM, and embroidery”.

The Bangladeshi Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector is quite optimistic about 2025. With the decline of inflation in markets like Europe and America, Western buyers are starting to return. Despite political instability and labor unrest, the RMG sector achieved a 6.23% growth in export earnings in 2024. This improvement reflects the sector’s resilience and sustainability amidst overall challenges.

The tradeshow will be open to business visitors between 11 am to 7 pm.
