Foreign Ministry summons Indian High Commissioner

The Foreign Ministry has summoned Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka, Pranay Verma. He was summoned to the ministry on Sunday (December 14) afternoon.

The Indian High Commissioner was summoned and told that the fugitive Sheikh Hasina is giving speeches in India urging her supporters to engage in provocative and terrorist activities in order to sabotage the upcoming parliamentary elections in Bangladesh. The Bangladesh government was informed of its deep concern towards the Indian government for giving her the opportunity to make such provocative speeches. Bangladesh has also called for the immediate extradition of Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.

At the same time, the issue of anti-Bangladesh activities of fugitive Awami League leaders and activists residing in India was also brought to the attention of the Indian High Commissioner.
