Fire safety awareness training organized – Home Affairs Advisor

Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) said that a fire fighting exercise/training has been organized in the Ministry of Home Affairs to raise awareness about fire safety. A few days ago, a fire broke out in Building No. 7 of the Secretariat. This has been organized so that such accidents do not happen again in important establishments including the Secretariat. We have started this training from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Fire fighting training will be organized in other buildings of the Secretariat in phases. We want the entire country to be aware of fire safety.

The advisor said this while briefing journalists after participating in and observing the fire fighting training organized by the Department of Fire Service and Civil Defense at the Ministry of Home Affairs located in Building No. 8 of the Bangladesh Secretariat on Tuesday (January 20, 2025) afternoon.

The advisor said that a fire extinguisher or fire extinguisher is a common piece of equipment. Everyone should keep it in their homes. He said, God forbid, if there is a fire accident somewhere, if there is a fire extinguisher, you can put out the fire yourself. Sometimes the fire spreads far before the fire brigade arrives. That is why everyone should keep a fire extinguisher in their homes. And it is also necessary to practice how to use it in advance.

Special Assistant to the Principal Advisor on Home Affairs Md. Khoda Baksh Chowdhury, Senior Secretary of the Home Ministry Nasimul Gani and others were present at the time.
